I’ve studied and personally learned from many men and women in the fields of environmental toxicology, functional medicine, psychoneuroimmunology and genetics also including world renowned medical doctors. My passion for whole body health and restorative care along with a background in chemistry, microbiology, accompanied by a University research position in Microbial Genetics has allowed me to have a unique look into the mystery of  and its effect on the matrix of the body. Having applied these experiences and research to a clinical practice I would like to share my observations.

Mold issues have been written about as far back as the 14th century BC.  They can be found in Jewish historical documents as well as in the book of Leviticus, as we will discuss later. Mold made a huge leap in the world of health care when Alexander Fleming accidentally found that Penicillin mold could be an effective antibiotic.

The mold Aspergillus terreus can be grown and used for prescription cholesterol lowering drugs. There is a large range of mold active compounds that have been utilized in the creation of anti-cancer drugs, psychotropic drugs, immunosuppressants and even fungicides. Even greater more nefarious strides have been made for the production and purification of mold toxins for biological weapons.
The Assyrians used Ergot, a fungus found on grains, for poison as early as the 6th century BC. The most notable use of toxins in the 20th century was during the Vietnam War where thousands were killed and untold numbers were adversely affected with “Yellow Rain.” Even more recent use of the very same mold toxin was during the Gulf War. In both instances T2 Toxin from mass harvested and concentrated Stachybotrys chartarum (Black Mold) were used. No matter our differing opinions on whether or not we should ingest these medications or our individual view point on bio-weaponry we need to understand molds and their toxins are as old as man and man has used them for good and for bad.
It is important to understand that the Biological approach to Mold Toxins and its associated illnesses remains consistent with our entire philosophy. We don’t treat named diseases or conditions. We understand that the body heals by changing the internal environment, aiding the detoxification systems and removing the chronic insult. The health of the body is a three part process: the bodies physiological response to mold, the limbic system’s improper effects and the absence or strained relationship you have with your Creator.

Dealing with Mold Symptoms
So many people that come to our clinic have a broad array of signs and symptoms. We see some truly ill people that have had 40+ symptoms, such as fatigue, heart racing, multiple levels of cognitive impairment, multiple chemical sensitivities, neurological impairment and the list goes on.

A great number of people would like to know what we do or what we can do for mold associated illness. Many people suffering from chronic illnesses are mostly not able to take the commonly prescribed medications Cholestyramine or Amphotericin B. Due to the holistic nature of our philosophy and methods of whole body treating we have had to look far and wide and dig deeper than most physicians to find some relief for those that seem to be endlessly suffering.

I would not consider myself to be an expert in mold. I have not dedicated my life to studying it, learning about its intricate makings and how one can use it, or destroy it. I do, however, know how the matrix of the body works and I work with an entire team of men and women that know what to do for chronically ill people. We see people from all over the world from Amsterdam to Anaheim, Sydney to Seattle; we see some of the most difficult patients. People perhaps just like you reading this, lost in a sea of physicians, not knowing where to turn, not knowing how you will carry on. We see moms and dads, brothers and sisters just like you.

So you may ask the question, what makes our approach different? First, we utilize natural solutions and hand crafted mixes as opposed to a one-size fits all approach. We also utilize many healing herbs by way of nutritional products, detoxification protocols, mind-body balancing work, and resonance matched remedies for priority ailments like but not limited to bacteria, viruses, molds and parasites. All of this is to aid the body’s natural defense mechanism which allows it to reach a balanced point.

Before I get to the physical aspect of our approach to mold illness I would like to take a moment to acknowledge that mold has been around for thousands of years. It is even written about in the Old Testament. Biblical ways (prescriptions) one should deal with mold are written within the book of Leviticus. I encourage you to read Chapters 13 and 14 of Leviticus as this details how to deal with the defilement of leprosy. A quick study about the origins of tsar’at, the Hebrew word for ritual defilement affecting the skin, clothes, and structures was translated to Greek then to Latin then to English as “leprosy”. Many Hebrew language scholars and even Greek language scholars would disagree with its interpretation and find a more appropriate term as “mold”.

Stay tuned on my next blog I’ll outline my  Biological Medicine approach to mold related illnesses.
